shake shake, shake shake, shake it!

we have SHAKE! the natural clay vinyl shake started going up today and it looks AWESOME!!! we've been looking at the color on a small (very small) sample and to see it on the house, we are so happy we picked the color we did. these pictures were taken on wednesday. since then, they've finished the shake.  the fiber cement board (the horizontal boards right above the brick) will be painted the exact same color as the shake. you can see the soffits, trim around the windows and the board separating the shake and fiber board, are all or will be the linen color. it is really coming along!!

they delivered all of the baseboards, stair parts, doors, and trim for the inside of the hours. all of the hardwood floor on the main floor is finished. they are using a 3 1/2 inch red oak floor and it will be stained a dark walnut. the kitchen cabinets should be going in next week (i think). we've also ordered our garage door, it will be the same color as the shake and have plain windows across the top. the water, electric, and gas lines have been ran so that means the driveway should be poured soon.

we are currently living at tom and joan's. they've been at the lake for the last 2 wks (i promise, we didn't kick them out). we are comfortable and having fun living at "ma ma's and pa pa's house". we go and visit the big house twice during the week and once on the weekends.
