may 31 and june 2 update

on friday, i took a car load of ceiling fans, lights, and mirrors out to the house. the electrician asked them to be delivered on friday night so he could start installing them on saturday. 

when i arrived on friday, the painters were there, the tile guy was there and lots of stuff was being done! the dining room was painted and it is beautiful! i love the color we picked, so rich and warm. perfect for the dining room.

the painters had also stained the stairs. we went with a dark walnut in minwax. it looks like it could be a messy job!

you can also see in the picture above that our built ins are almost finished. our trim guy will install shelves on the right side and doors on the bottom section of both sides. the mantel and built ins have been painted. we are going to have the same tile as our backsplash installed around the fireplace and hearth.

below is a better picture of the trim above the two top windows. oh and if you look at the banister posts, he made them. the ones that originally came in were nothing like we expected. they returned them and mike made the new ones. the picture above of the steps show a better angle.

the painters then painted the closet in Jack's room.



next the tile guy was installing the shelves in the shower. this is what they looked like on sunday night when we got there.



now for the lights. he installed two of the three pendants over the kitchen island. we LOVE them!!!

then in Jack's bathroom he installed the lights. they will have clear globes with "bubbles" in them.



Jack's ceiling fan, the screened porch fan (notice the blue ceiling) and our bedroom (no picture) all had ceiling fans installed.

then the lights in the guest room bath were installed.

more lights to come! we can't wait to see the exterior, dining room and breakfast area installed. what a difference lights can make. and for those who have never shopped lighting, wow, they. are.EXPENSIVE!!
